Approximately 80 second graders attended one of the two sessions, which were directed by our Retreat Leader, Mrs. Giovanna Pilch. Many volunteers guided the students through four stations: Liturgy of the Word, Liturgy of the Eucharist, Banner Making, and Bread Baking. Afterwards, everyone gathered in the auditorium where they listened to a Gospel reading, joined in an agape to commemorate the Last Supper where they drank grape juice and ate the bread they had baked, sang songs, and listened to the story, “The Night Before First Communion.”
